  • Manor Academy celebrates excellent GCSE results Manor Academy celebrates excellent GCSE results

    Students at Manor Community Academy, one of ten secondary academies sponsored by Northern Education Trust, have achieved their best ever GCSE results.

    The academy has also shown a strong improvement in the number of passes in English and Maths.

    An amazing 61% of students overall achieved a pass in English and Maths, demonstrating an improvement of 8% on last year’s results.

    There were some outstanding individual successes:

    Abbie Waggott, 6 x grade 9s, 2 x grade 8s and a Distinction Star
    Saule Narsutyte, 4 x grade 9s, 5 x grade 8s and a Distinction Star
    Rhiannon Tingle, 3 x grade 9s, 5 x grade 8s and 2 Distinction Stars
    Michelle Wang, 4 x grade 9s, 4 x grade 8s and a grade 7

    Lee Kirtley, Principal of Manor Community Academy thanked the students and staff for their efforts and commitment, saying: “These excellent results are the culmination of years of hard work for our students and I’m absolutely delighted with their achievements. I would like to express my thanks to staff for their continued efforts – the results are testament to their continuous support, energy and enthusiasm. My thanks also go to the parents, carers, governors and the Trust Board for their continued support – our students and staff couldn’t succeed without their help.”

    Andrew Jordon, Executive Principal of Manor Academy added his praise, saying “Students and staff are to be congratulated for these results, and should be very proud of what they have accomplished. They have all worked extremely hard to achieve at these levels, and the results reflect the dedication and commitment they have shown”.

    Rob Tarn, Chief Executive of Northern Education Trust, said “These results reflect the hard work and commitment of the staff and students within the academy. The year on year improvement demonstrates the ongoing quality of education provided by the academy, and the exceptional desire of the students to succeed. We aim to enhance the life chances of the children and young people in our care, and these results are the culmination of their incredible efforts and dedication, allowing them to progress to the next stage of their lives with confidence in their abilities to succeed. We are extremely proud of our students and wish them every success with their futures”.
